Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – Carnival 2011 is in full swing and Caribbean Airlines has prepared for the increased customer demand during the peak carnival season by placing additional flights to its schedule to and from Trinidad, both on the air bridge and from North America for Carnival 2011.

To cater for the aboundingCarnival season, Caribbean Airlines added ten additional flights between New York and Trinidad during February 24th and March 13th. These flights account for a total of 4,880 additional seats to the airline’s regular schedule. The Toronto route saw an increase from eleven weekly flights to double daily flights and an additional flight on February 24, 26, 28 as well as March 3, 5, 10 and 12. An extra flight to and from Miami was added to the usual daily service into Miami International.

For leisure passengers who want to go straight to their sister isle Tobago, a total of 3,148 extra seats were added for travel on the air bridge. Caribbean Airlines implemented return services to and from Tobago using both its Dash-8 and Boeing 737 fleets.

“These extra services have been available for purchase since mid-January. We understand that Carnival is a cultural and artistic time for nationals of Trinidad and Tobago and travel at this time is in high demand. Caribbean Airlines has demonstrated a unique capacity to put the travel needs of our customers first. It is important that our passengers can count on us to provide a reliable and sustainable service during this time of celebration,” stated Caribbean Airlines’ Head Corporate Communications, Laura Asbjornsen. “The response to the additional services both domestic and international has been phenomenal. Passengers have successfully secured seats to their destinations of choice and Caribbean Airlines is proud to be of service.”
