Antigua and Barbuda - Travel Guide
This nation, which boasts a different beach for every day of the year, is made up of three islands, Antigua, Barbuda and uninhabited Redonda. Whether they have 365 beaches or not, they are certainly spectacular to behold with reef cradled, sugar white sand beaches on Antigua and those of Barbuda sometimes kissed with pink.
This English speaking nation has a fierce devotion to cricket and has produced some of the world’s most famous cricketers, making a sidetrip to catch a game while visiting the picturesque capital of St. John’s, a unique experience. The favorable trade winds here also make this island a year round yachting and sailing paradise.
Although the beaches of Barbuda on the southwestern shore are perfect for tranquil swimming and stretch uninterrupted for up to 10 miles at one point, the more turbulent waters on the Atlantic shore throw up treasures that make it ideal for beachcombing. Here too can be found the Caribbean’s largest rookery for all those birdwatchers out there.
