Curaçao is a scuba divers haven, in May the unique dive festival take place. These calm waters contain what is known locally as “the blue edge” , where the seafloor drops off sharply only a few hundred feet from shore making the reef accessible without a boat. 15 miles off shore lies Klein Curaçao, fulfilling dreams of diving off of an uninhabited island, with boat diving on calm days on the other side of the island. The north and west have just as much to offer. Although seemingly arid , upon closer inspection, this cacti dotted land is teeming with wildlife. Hiking trails abound in Curaçao Christoffelpark, which can also be explored by car, bike or horse.
